My name is Evan Thornhill. I am the owner and founder of Pristine Landscapes LLC. My personal landscape background began as a teenager when I was tasked with keeping up with my family's property in the 2000's. I quickly found that I enjoyed the work and took pride in the appearance of our landscape. Professionally, my first jobs in the trade were in the summers of my college years (2007-2011). I worked one summer for my uncle, Randy Vice's company, in north Alabama called Distinctive Landscapes. Mulching, grading, panting, and laying sod were our primary jobs. The next two summers, I worked locally for Passiglias nursery in Wildwood, Missouri. I was introduced to what is now a passion of mine: retaining walls and paver patios. I truly loved every minute of these introductory years. The crew chiefs I worked under had endless knowledge of the landscape and hardscape trade. Despite a slight language barrier, I learned a lot from the best of the best.
Pristine Landscapes was created in 2015. I initially just purchased some tools and reached out to the people I knew around St. Charles, Missouri. In the beginning years, I worked smaller design and sod jobs. Sometimes I had helping hands, often though, I was a one man band. This was how things were until the spring of 2020, when I decided I wanted to take the next step. i reached out to local businesses such as S.O.S. Tree Service, which is owned by a childhood friend, Zach. I also introduced myself to the owners of Theiss farm and Nursery in St. Charles, Fran and Mark. With these professional and successful references, I was soon running a 3 to 4 man crew. Work was booked 2 to 3 months in advance. I met my current crew chief in 2021, Tim. His background was an installer for many years, for the very successful St. Louis based company, Euro Scapes. His knowledge and passion for custom wall and patio builds opened the door to endless possibilities. There is no job too big or too small for our talented and driven crew.Â
